| by Sharon ThomasDawson News & Advertiser Chris Robinson, band director at Dawson County High School, is proud of his band students. "We just had five kids who went to district honor band competition at Fannin County High School in Blue Ridge," Robinson said. Today, March 4, the band will have its large group performance evaluation, done by the Georgia Music Educator Association. All high school bands must undergo the evaluation, playing for the judges' evaluation and critique. Robinson also teaches guitar class. Recently, students practiced on a number of differently styled guitars and were attentive to the work at hand. The large band class and each section were drilled on their performance piece before the whole group performed together. The music department at DCHS will have its spring concert in May and the public is invited to attend. |
